During our two-day card making fest, we came up with a few ideas for recycling odds and ends to make pretty cards to share. Here are some of them to get you going.

Use buttons for the center of flowers

We used construction paper for the petals, but I think scraps of fabric would be awesome for this! You could also simply draw the petals on.

Cut, folded, and glued a paper grocery sack to make a small card.
Glued raffia around. Then glued on a button.
This would be a nice card to put on a gift.
Use File Folders

We cut cards out of old file folders then made windows in them. The kids drew houses on the front and a picture inside.
My daughter taped a cut of piece of ziplock bag for the window.
My son will REALLY want me to show you his card. It makes me smile (he is so cute!):
